Sharon Blaney, RN, COHN(C) COHN-S/CM, FAAOHN

Sharon BlaneySharon, a Registered Nurse specializes in the occupational health field. She began her career in Occupational Health (OH) with TELUS (BC TEL) in 1974 and held various positions within the OH department culminating in the appointment to the position of Director of Corporate Health Services in 1997. In 2001 Sharon retired from TELUS and formed her own company International Productivity Options, specializing in occupational health consulting.

In addition to her work life activities she also has been actively involved in shaping the direction of the profession of Occupational Health Nursing at the provincial, federal and international level. Sharon is a former president of the Canadian Occupational Health Nurses Association (COHNA) and a past member of the Board of Directors of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN). She currently is a member of the Editorial Review Panel of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses Professional Journal

Sharon has received a number of awards in her nursing career including the British Columbia Registered Nurses Award of Excellence in Nursing Administration (1995),
the National Who's Who in Healthcare Award in 1999, made a Fellow of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses in 2006 and is a member of Who’s Who of
Canadian Women. In 1999 Sharon was the driving force behind the TELUS‘s NQI Healthy Workplace Award.
