Jacques L'Espérance, F.S.A., F.C.I.A.

Jacques L'Espérance is a graduate of Laval University where he has obtained a Bachelor in Actuarial Science in 1974 and he is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries as well as the Society of Actuaries since 1979.

Jacques L'Espérance has worked as a consultant for a major consulting firm in Montreal for more than 17 years. Previously he was a manager of group insurance for one of the largest insurance companies in Québec. He has also worked as a consultant in non-monetary compensation for an international administration consulting firm.

In 2001, Mr. L'Espérance created his own firm J. L'Espérance Actuariat Conseil Inc.; he specializes in group insurance and advises clients on the design, financing and administration of employee benefit programs (traditional and flexible). He also consults with organizations on various health related issues.

• Member of the Board of Directors of the RAMQ (Quebec Medicare).
• President of the Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute (Québec) for 1999-2000 and 2000-2001.
• He was a member of the Committee investigating the pertinence and feasibility of a universal public drug plan in Québec
• Member of the Board of Directors of the RAMQ (Quebec Medicare)
• President of the Internal Audit Committee of the RAMQ since January 2005
